Hi, I’m Pappy Richard—

Hello everyone. Pappy Richard here, your favorite Central PA Beekeeper. Thanks so much for joining me.   

My oldest grandson, Beau, started calling me “Pappy Richard“ at a young age. I wanted him to call me “Grandfather” but he had other plans. Now my entire family as well as many of my friends and coworkers call me “Pappy Richard” or “PR” for short.   I live in Central Pennsylvania with my wife, Heidi. We’ve been married for 41 years. We have 4 grown daughters and 6 grandchildren.  

What started as a simple curiosity about beekeeping has grown into a full-blown passion for honeybees and the sweet rewards they bring. I started keeping bees in 2020 with just two beehives.

These days, I care for about 40 thriving hives right here in our local community. Whether I’m checking on queens, teaching my grandkids about bees, or filling jars of golden raw honey, every part of this work is rooted in love for these fascinating creatures.

At Pappy Richard’s, you’ll find more than just honey. I offer handcrafted beeswax products like lip balms and lotion bars, strong mated queen bees, starter nucleus colonies for new beekeepers, and local pollination services for farms and gardens.
